David Mangiameli II, the founder of Sentinel Analytics, has and continues to play a role in several medical systems across the world. David serves as a medic within the 106th Rescue Wing, one of the US Air Force’s designated search and rescue organizations. In this capacity, medics are trained in and provide a wide variety of medical services, from battlefield and prolonged critical care to outpatient flight medicine and everywhere in between. Additionally, he staffs several Emergency Service Agencies on Long Island, New York, and participates in volunteer medical missions on multiple continents. He is finalizing prerequisites necessary to attend medical school through Stony Brook University College of Health Sciences.

 

This exposure is uniquely beneficial when transitioning into the private sector, private equity arena, as there is extensive, active involvement in a wide variety of medical specialties. Further, the diversity of clinicians he encounters in practice proves to be advantageous when considering a variety of specialty specific factors. These elements, often unique to a field of medicine, play a large role in a multitude of facets determining the extent of a product's success, such as market penetration, clinical benefit, and present standards of care. 

 

Before founding Sentinel Analytics, David previously functioned as the sole scientific analyst for Forepont Capital Partners, based out of New York City. Throughout the life of the fund, the investment of ~$100M was supported by the composition of several investment memorandums, competition analysis papers, anatomic and technologic explication documents, substantiated by several interviews and consultations with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in their respective fields. The investments made under his guidance were widely successful, enabling the firm to begin to grow a fund multiple times its original size.
